I cant take any credit for this it was built by someone else, I leave my loco building to paul hanna (the castle on leamington) and fred Welsh Wizzard Lewis. I to am in awe of these guys talents and its an honour to have there creations on my layout which I have finally started.

Where have all you modellers been, we dont see anything for ages, then you all post at once. It has certainly been well worth the wait, the models on show on Railnuts at the moment are superb. 71000 looks terrific Stephen, even only 90% built. I also love this loco, and happen to have a [...]

David, have a look on Barking Bill’s site on Flicker and maybe your idea’s of a dirty engine will be a little different.

This is a 90% complete model of 71000 Duke of Gloucester its a jim harris/ acorn kit of a limited production run that was done a few years ago. It needs a motor new pick ups and all the additional detailing finished and of course a coat of paint. then a ‘heavy weathering’ sorry Fred!!
The real [...]

Castle all the way matey the stars where nice looking locos but the newer cab on the castle made all the difference. Duchess? what about the princess I think they where very gracefull looking but the duchess does give an air of sheer brute power.

Don’t take this as gospel, but 70001 comes through Chelmsford at the moment around about 16.00 every day London-bound. I know that there was a particular Railnut who was keen to see it.
I’m not sure I’d listen to myself and make a journey here to come and see it though…

More than considered it…..it was only because the detail set is available I decided to buy the Bachman loco……if I can get my a**e into gear I shall be ordering the set this week.
I am very impressed by the Bachman loco, for the price its amazing, and runs so very smoothly!
