When I saw the Brits on B.R. you couldn’t tell what colour the bu99ers were.

  • Graham Powell commented on the blog post 70000   2 hours, 24 minutes ago

The Brits were first turned out in black. There will be angy letters in SR like when City of Truro was turned out in LNWR lined black livery. One of my pals rang the NRM and gave them a bollocking. Of course , it was all an April fools joke.
As a trainspotter it was always [...]

That’s going to cost you as well Peter T. It’s going to be a cheep day out at Halifax show for me. That’s if I can get the money out of TWO Yorkshire men.
PS. Four pints of Barrow corporation pop better than eight pints of J.S. bitter.

Nice work there Fred – superbly understated patina and grime!

    Chris,
I’ve got some of them here.

Cooperman, you had better go to the Halifax B/S before you meet me as its going to cost you a fortune.
Just out of interest, how many of you do know what the numbers are for. I do and I would expect one or two others will do.

Fits in well doesn’t it! Just imagine 30 plus 16 tonners in tow!

Great to see another “top link” engine heading back to where she should be. Unlined black – stunning! Bugger to keep clean though. Not sure all will appreciate it. Still why shouldn’t preservation allow evolution especially in the current muticoloured era.

Well Paul, you seem to be better at numbers than spelling!!! OOOP’s Cooperman!!

Cliff, thank you for your comment, and in reply…the camera I use is a Canon EOS 500D. It is a superb camera and can certainly recommend it. Having used Olympus for quite a few years, I find this camera the best I have had so far. You only live once Cliff….go for it!!

My ‘O’ my, that is going to rattle some feathers. How many will say that a Britt never ran in ‘black’ one or two I’ll bet.
    Looking good, more photos soon.
Watch out for the angry Reverend brigade mate. Remember what happened last time.
