Hi guys, I wondered if I could ask for some advice from all of you.
I am trying to purchase three carriages from a Class 423 4-VEP train (you’ll have to excuse me if my terminology is a little fuzzy – I’m learning as I go!).
We’re producing a feature film called ’Last Passenger’, about a man and his young family who get trapped on a runaway late night slammer out of King’s Cross (c. 2005 before the slammers were decommissioned). Our very talented young director is very specific about these carriages, so we need to get hold of them as they are the set. (the entire film takes place on these carriages, so the authenticity’s extremely important.)
Do any of you know of any existing carriages we might be able to purchase?
One other piece of information that may be of interest about the project is that we are working with Richard Taylor (the man behind the Special Effects on the Lord of The Rings films, King Kong and Avatar). He’s a huge train enthusiast, which is how we attracted him to the project and wants to build us a 1/3 scale replica of the 4-VEP for the final sequence of the film (he did something similar with a steam train for the Legend of Zorro).
The key for this film is that it’s as authentic as possible, so much research has been done to make sure everything is as realistic as it can be.
I’d really appreciate any advice you can give me on this.
With kind regards,
Zack Winfield
